Horizon took a toke on the great cannabis debate recently.

And it came out in favour of its medicinal properties but for keeping it out of the way of the young
Horizon delved into cannabis's origins in plants and, believe it or not, in creatures that existed 500 million years ago. Apparently it is something to do with the active ingredient being a neural transmitter.

Various experiments were shown and the conclusions by the presenter were:

a) It doesn't physically lead to harder drugs
b) It can be useful for certain medical problems, usually to do with alleviating pain
c) Don't give it to adolescents as it might mess up their developing brains.
