I’ve just seen a preview of a fascinating short documentary, Painting with 14 Personalities, about Kim Noble, an artist with dissociative identity disorder (DID).
Noble has multiple personalities, and it was during an art therapy session her therapist noticed a natural gift for painting and encouraged her to take up art seriously. 14 of these personalities now paint – each with their own distinctive style.
In the insightful documentary, filmmaker Tuyet Le captures Noble talking about the reality of living with DID (formerly known as multiple personality disorder) and shows artwork created by her personalities.
Painting with 14 Personalities, will be shown next Monday as part of an international film festival at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in central London.
Painting with 14 Personalities is at the Institute of Contemporary Arts on Monday 16 July.
