The UK’s first playground designed specifically for the over-70’s has opened in Blackley, near Manchester.
The “Older People’s Play Area” in Dam Head Park, was inspired by a similar facility in Germany, spotted by the treasurer of the residents’ association. Some of the exercise stations are accessible to wheelchair users.
Rumours of plans for an over-80s skateboard park remain unconfirmed.
