Community Care's shameless pursuit of the secretary of state continued last night for another photo in support of our Stand Up Now for Social Work campaign.
Last week, feature writer Amy Taylor successfully engineered a photo opportunity with the minister in Manchester thanks to a flurry of messages on Twitter.
This one, however, was much more simple.
I bumped into Ed Balls at a drinks reception in London organised by his department, and thanks to the sterling efforts of the Department for Children, Schools and Families press team, we swiftly donned our badges (well, I was already wearing mine) for the camera.
Thanks again to the DCSF for supporting our campaign - let's hope we can take the opportunity to make a real difference in the public standing of social work.
