Recession takes its toll on stressed-out workers

Daniel Lombard Use meAround 100 union activists turned out to highlight the negative impact of cuts in the voluntary sector.

The union Unite said the pressure on staff to deliver services with limited resources during the recession was leading to high levels of stress among staff and negative outcomes for service users.

 

In a Unite survey, 85% of respondents felt current funding arrangements were leading to negative impact on services, and 91% felt it was damaging morale in the workplace.
