Want to get more involved with UNISON?

UNISON is all about giving staff a voice in the workplace. There are lots of ways to get involved. If you want something quite informal you could become a workplace contact, making sure members receive information and advice from the union, and canvassing views and opinions to feed back to the UNISON steward.

UNISON stewards advise members about their problems, represent them in the workplace and get involved in how the union branch is run. This is a bit more formal - you would be elected by your colleagues from a particular team or work area. And it gives you formal rights to time off work and training to do your role.

Whichever role you take on you will get UNISON training and backup, and you can take on as much or as little as you're comfortable with.

Interested? Talk to your UNISON branch or local steward. If you need help making contact with them call UNISON Direct: 0845 355 0845 or email: direct@unison.co.uk
