It can't be nice to work at Nice, the NHS body charged with evaluating what treatments are worth spending public money on and which aren't. Nice
has just given permission for Lucentis to be used to treat wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD), which was previously only available on the NHS once a patient had gone blind in one eye.
