Ivan Lewis, the care services minister, entered last night's Labour
conference fringe meeting on adult social care funding looking somewhat
greyer than I remembered. "It's been an interesting summer," he said,
allowing a brief pause for laughter over the recent News of the World
"text-pest" debacle - claiming the minister sent inappropriate messages
to a young aide. (Of course, no-one mentioned this out loud, but
everyone evidently knew.)
