It's day one of the judicial review of Sharon Shoesmith's sacking from Haringey Council over the Baby Peter scandal.

The High Court heard today from her barrister James Maurici, who said: "She has been financially ruined and her health has been very seriously affected."

The case is expected to run for the next two or three days.

It will interesting to hear what further details emerge about the actions of children's secretary Ed Balls, Ofsted and Haringey Council.
