Dean Ashton, Cornwall's corporate director for children, schools and families, has resigned in anticipation of a damning report from Ofsted due to come out next week.
According to the
council's website and
a local Cornwall paper, Ashton left his post before publication of Ofsted's report because evidence used in the report showed there were still "major issues" to be addressed in the department.
