Two London South Bank University students seem to think they can. They have organised a conference, Can I practice the social work I believe in within the statutory sector?, for London-based social work students tomorrow.
"We're trying to develop critical thinking about the context of social work," says Dan Morton, a second year undergraduate social work student and one of the conference organisers.
