Care workers' salaries have only ridden by 4% in the last four years, while managers' pay has risen by 12%.

According to the latest figures from the Skills for Care national minimum data set the average salary paid to a care worker over the last twelve months was only £500 more than it was in 2007. Meanwhile, the salaries of registered managers have increased by £3,100 on average.

Perhaps more shockingly a quick analysis of the figures shows that care workers salaries have fallen in the last 12 months.

I can't say I know why this is but it appears that not all workers are being rewarded equally for the growth in the sector.
