I entirely agree with you, Tony.

It has always been a large concern of mine how celebrities are able to get away with cruelty, when they themselves are against bullying.

I shan't mention any names, but I'm sure we are able to identify a few times within the past when this has happened.

No matter how big or small, cruelty should be taken seriously.

I have to thank CQC for adding their comment. It is good to know that those responsible for regulation find the time to look at sites like Community Care and take note of what people in the sector are saying.

We have been contacting every provider in the UK over the past few weeks and to make sure our details are correct we have contacted both providers and individual establishments. In some cases this has caused duplication and we’re sorry for any inconvenience caused. We think it is essential that we’re thorough so that all providers receive our guidance and their formal notice to register.

We do have information on our website about this, and about the new registration system in general, at: www.cqc.org.uk/.../howtoapplyforregistration.cfm, which you might want to check out.

I would not mind earning that type of salary for the level of work and risk I take. There are times as an AMHP having to start an a MHAct assessment at 7.30AM and I know of a colleague who had to start at 5.30AM. what is annoying is that public and clearly the ex- CEO have lost touch with those on the shope floor who take insults and abuse on a daily basis for little reward.

May be those who make the rules regarding target settings etc should spend a day with those they are meant to represent. I am not sure what the GSCC do?? I think BASW is better and has more power.

"Perhaps the remit of the GSCC should be changed, at least for the immediate future, to be an organisation purely for registering and regulating Social Workers and leave the registering of the rest of the workforce for now."
