Sometimes suicide attempts are the classic "cry for help".
(As an aside, this phrase always bothers me. Because if someone is going to threaten suicide, something that most of us do not do, then regardless of how much they "mean it" it's indicative of some neurons misfiring, or cross firing, or just not firing at all.)
Anyway.
And sometimes? Well, one's state of mind is completely understandable.
To Wit:
If I had a terminal illness diagnosed just this year
and I had a drinking problem
and a prescription drug problem
and an unsuccessful run at rehab
thrice
and unsuccessful suicide attempts
twice
and was separated from my wifewho, too, attempted suicide recently
and also had a drinking problem
and was unable to see my kid because he was in the state's custody
due of a set of parents who were regularly drunk and suicidal?
Yeah. I guess I'd be having some thoughts of offing myself. ->
