Ok.  I had a blog entry (sort of) going until I ran across a comment on this site.  Now I'm working on the fly.

As background, the commenters were talking about questions Joe Biden had to endure from a news anchor in Orlando.  At one point, "Marxism" got injected into the line of questioning during the interview.  Because, you know, Obama/Biden=Marxism.  Damn them with their plan to cut taxes for the 95% of Americans who make less than 250K a year.

This is what some people truly, honestly believe:
As I was watching the the World Series last night, I was struck by the following thought when the score was 8-2: If baseball followed Obama's tax plan, then the Phillies would be forced to give 3 of their runs to Tampa, so that Tampa would have a chance to win too. Now is there ANYONE in this country who thinks that is fair? I would bet not. Tampa had as many chances at bat as Philadelphia, but they didn't capitalize on those chances. Just like the way EVERYONE in this country has a chance at success if they put forth the EFFORT. Some just don't take advantage of it -so should those who do be punished?
That's right.  People just have to make an EFFORT to succeed in the United States.  Because it's a level playing field out there, right?  Everyone starts their life with the exact same amount of resources: family, economic, social, environmental, spiritual, emotional, physiological, cognitive, internal and talents.   Everyone has the exact same kind of environment as a baby that encourages optimal brain development. Everyone has the exact same opportunities to attend quality public schools, beginning with pre-school and ending with high school because, naturally, everyone lives in communities that have the exact same tax base and therefore can fund their local schools in the exact same way.  If private schools are your thing then no worries!  Everyone's family can afford tuition. And college?  No sweat.  Everyone can go to college because everyone can afford that too, despite the fact that college costs at public universities have risen at double the rate of inflation.  (And, of course, those of us who had the ability to open college accounts for our kids shouldn't worry about the fact that said accounts tanked in the last several weeks. Tanked to the point that they just may not recover as college is mere five (!) years away. All we have to do is try harder and it will work itself out.)

And jobs?  Yeah.  Naturally everyone has the exact same opportunites to find stable, well paying jobs.  Jobs where incomes rise with the rate of inflation, jobs that offer fare vacation and sick leave, jobs that don't close up shop and move either a) to Mexico b) to China or c) to Right to Work states (which at this point is almost half the union).  Jobs that offer a true pension plan as opposed to a 401(k).  Jobs at companies that remain absolutely loyal to their workforce and are never forced to lay-off workers because the economy is always right as rain.  Jobs that always treat their employees with dignity and respect.

And health care?  Well, your excellent job will supply that.  No matter that these costs, like college costs, have also risen at double the rate of inflation.  That certainly won't affect the pay you receive from your company as your company will make up that $12,000 in premiums your have to spend every year to pay for said employer sponsered health coverage.   Besides, no one ever gets sick.  Or experiences life trauma.  And if they do, well, all the afore-mentioned resources are right there at their disposal.

All you have to do is make an EFFORT.  ->
