So you DO have the Genius feature downloaded on your iPod, right? You have to, because it fricking rocks. In concept, it's essentially Pandora or Last.fm. But it's right at your fingertips and works with your music library. Pick a song you like, press Genius, and bingo! Instant playlist! But the playlists it generates will send you little nuggets...easter eggs, if you will, from your vast collection.
If I'm in my car Monday thru Friday from 6:00 AM to 7 PM, I feel guilty if NPR is not my passenger. But weekends are all mine, and music rules the day. Today was a beautiful day and I had some errands to run. Genius was in charge and played for me a song I haven't heard in a few years. It was like getting a visit from an old friend and I was thrilled. "Oh, hi! How are you? Wow! I've missed you!"
