I swear, I had another post like this one...one where a young woman called and asked for advice about the profession and my inclination was to tell her to run, quite fast, in the opposite direction.
I don't remember what I titled it and I don't have the patience to weed through almost 300 ramblings of, well, my own thoughts. That's an ugly journey.
Suffice it to say, when I received another such phone call this past weekend from another young lady wanting advice on going into child welfare, I felt no differently.
Her: Can you give some pointers about things I should say and do in the interview?
Me: Arrive smelling like a brewery and stale cigarettes, scratch your bum at least twice, sneeze all over the interviewer, pretend you're hearing voices, and ask such intelligent questions as "Will I actually have to show up to get paid?"
Of course, there's no guarantee even then that she wouldn't get hired. ->
