I've told you about this blog. Kevin Barbieux is homeless and lives in Nashville, Tennessee. He blogs about his experiences and has been doing so for over six years. He found the blogging forum long before I did. I love it.
Well, recently NPR did a profile on a man named Eric Sheptock. Eric lives in the DC area and is homeless as well. He too has a blog (his last entry is a poingnant one and honors an HIV woman he knew who died on the streets), along with a twitter account and a Facebook page. He has become an advocate for the homeless, a role that he stumbled upon when a major shelter in his area closed last year. Apparently he's found his calling, and with a voice on the web you can potentially reach thousands. The comment section on the NPR site is enough to make me crazy, of course, but there are always trolls, well....trolling.
Give this guy a visit, see what you think. I now follow his blog. ->
