Alright, little missy. Listen up.
Sometimes, when people make a suicide attempt, it is not a foregone conclusion that a hospital stint is imminent. Taking a few pills in haste after a fight with the boyfriend? Some superficial cuts to the wrist? Swigging some over-the-counter medication? All of these attempts are not what I consider serious. Yes, there's a problem. Yes, I'll provide crisis intervention. Yes, I'll make referrals. But no, it's not a given I'll send you packing.
But.
If you happen to mention that you swigged that over-the-counter medication AFTER you were in your car. Which was in the garage. And the engine was running. And the garage door was closed. And Pearl Jam's Jeremy was playing on your iPod?
Yeah.
