I have an interview on Friday for a Local Authority job working in Children and Families. It is a final year bursary scheme for students in their final year and involves passing a group assessment to get through to the interview and written assessment stage. Has anyone had to do a group assessment like this or have any idea what it may involve?

I had to do a group assessment for my interview at university. basically we were divided into small groups of around 4 or 5 of us. we had to sit in a semi circle and were observed by a panel of I think 2 or 3 people (combination of lecturers/practioners and service users). they then gave us a scenario and asked us to discuss.

the main aim of the group assessment wasn't necessarily to assess your social work knowledge but more about how you worked in a group, i.e. listening and responding to others views, not talking over eachother, encouraging those who weren't speaking much to join in, etc

Hi, did you get through to the interview stage? I think I may have been at the same interview as you :-)

Hi, I am so sorry for my outrageously late reply! I did get through to interview but wasn't offered anything in the end. How about you?
