According to a poll 87% of adults have not planned for personal care in their old age. Admittedly I'm one of the 87%. Are you prepared?

I dont have any pension sorted yet. We have our money in property worst luck but hopefully by the time I retire this wont be a problem. I know I should have a pension but to be honest with you I get the impression that the money people are paying into pensions means nothing as it will be worthless and knowing my luck the pension company will go bankrupt. I could statr looking for a toy boy to look after me in my old age. It may not be appropriate but at that age I would be very grateful.Big Smile

Are you in Scotland Anne? If so yes free personal care was introduced there a few years ago. Unfortunately it hasn't been introduced here in England. I like your style Lins - toy boys all round!

I'm putting myself about now that I'm retired. Been to the Dementia Consultation. Been to the Putting People first Consultation. Been to the Advocacy consultation. Going to Stafford. Basically getting my face and name seen in many quarters and everytime I say to anyone who will listen, 'Dont forget that this will be you in a few years so try to get it right.'  If you get me as a client/patient/service user you will need all you can muster........Cos I will be your worst nightmare!!!!!!!!!???????

State pension, small (very small) LA pension, the occasional bit of training - Have laptop! Will travel! Just my wife and I in the house so I should get some equity if needed but the biggest preperation is the "Best Seller" I'm writing. Stuck in the library yesterday poring over the 1933 children and YP Act, Children Act 1948, National Assistance Act 1948. All rivetting reading.......................Oops must go cup of tea waiting.....

Still learning and willing to learn
