Just one note on this story:
http://www.communitycare.co.uk/blogs/social-policy-blog/2010/07/asylum-seekers-2m-home-but-who.html

We and asylum seekers are All Tax payers, has no one ever heard of VAT (Value Added Tax) and the myriad of additional Stealth taxes.

Whilst it looks like 1.2 million Tax funded Public workers are going to be thrown onto the benefits heap, why don't we see this system as merely as an alternative lifestyle. Whereas those on benefits just transfer all the benefit money to the Private sector to pay for living costs and Housing Benefit is paid to all those Buy to Let landlords, some of which are current and past MPs.

The Mantra, get on your bike - work for benefits = Slavery

IE: The Benefits system lets people subsist, with the benefits just merely passing through the hands of claimants to boost the Profits and Lifestyles of the few. It is these Few that the benefits system works for.

Anyone see a connection between selling Council houses, then not using the money t build new house has led to these Rent rises and acute housing shortages, NO? Then lets bash a passing Asylum seeker or maybe even a Benefit scrounger.

Lets deep cleanse inner cities, force Housing benefit claimants to seek lower cost housing in the Suburbs or maybe they should leave family and friends behind and 'emigrate' to the outer Islands of Scotland for cheap rent. Result. Make inner city areas the preserve of the well off and keep the poor rabble house in rebellion infused riot prone areas.

Here's a solution that may become a reality. Build Japan style Capsule accommodation for sale, say twice the size of a standard Coffin. Then single people could really afford a mortgage for one, so they would not have to rely on Housing Benefit. Then give everyone communal eating facilities, similar to the costs of delivering school meals and therefore Adults and Graduates could have Affordable housing and food to subsist and a ready made Coffin for a cheap burial. Dystopian I know, but look no further than the size and cost of a Student room (unite) in Central London (£200 to £500) and you can see were society (the market...) is going.

One bed tiny flat per week: £548
studio bed deck £310
two bed flat £313 (per person)
