Hello,
I am an independent producer making a report for Channel 4 News on working conditions for child-protection social workers.
I am interested in speaking to social workers across the country who can tell me, from personal experience, whether the system is working well and, if not, what the problems might be.
Do you, for example, feel that:
- Caseloads that are too high?
- You get inadequate support from managers?
- Fear being made a scapegoat in the event of something going wrong?
- Or feel that either college training or on-the-job training is inadequate?
And if you do – what impact has this had on your ability to carry out your job properly and cope with the pressures of working in child protection?
I'd like to reassure anyone thinking of contacting me that our conversation will be strictly confidential unless you express a desire to participate in this programme. I am interested in finding potential interviewees for the programme - but only on the basis of informed consent.
To get in touch, or if you would like more information, please e-mail me at

I look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks
