We have been offered 40 free tickets to an exclusive screening of the forthcoming US film Precious, featuring Mariah Carey playing a "hard knock" 80s social worker.
The film has had great reviews and the screening, taking place on Tuesday 1 December in central London, takes place over a month before the film is set to open in the UK. There is a lot of talk about it winning Oscars, apparently.
The screening is exclusively for social care professionals and we will be giving priority to CareSpace members. This offer is now closed

Please could someone tell me how to send a private message.
Hi redbull
You can send a private message by clicking on someone's user name and then clicking on "start conversation" which is at the top left of the page.
Are the people above happy to have their full names listed here?
Simeon

I was offered a ticket but unfortunately can no longer make it and Simeon is out of the office till 14th so the first person who emails me will be emailed back with the details for my ticket as i would not want it to go to waste.
I'm covering for Simeon while he is on holiday. I've just had an email from someon who can no longer use their ticket, so do email me if you'd like to take advantage of it. ruth.smith@rbi.co.uk

I watched social work film Precious last night. Found the graphic portrayal of abuse quite traumatic. But just said in a blog about the film that I'm not convinced Mariah Carey gets social work.
It was the teacher and benefits adviser who supported Precious as she disclosed the abuse. Mariah Carey - in her brief appearances - didn't seem to ask basic questions, or do anything when Precious finally mentioned her hideous home life.Doesn't that show social work in a poor light?
