I met someone the other day who regulary did this and actually though it was quite fun.

Is it right to do so?

What would you say you did if it wasn't social work?

Is it right to do? Of course it is if the person feels they're going to meet with a threatening or abusive response.

I've not lied per se but i have skillfully avoided the question. Its not that Im not proud of my job, its just that I love my spare time, my personal life etc and sometimes the last thing I want to do is stand with a stranger (particualrly if either of us are drunk!) explaining that no i dont break into people's houses in the middle of the night and take their children.

Why would I pretend to be a social worker?
