On another thread Mithran asked if anyones RAS had been cut.
Ours in Older Peoples was cut by 25% in Sept 2010 and we are anticipating more cuts.
Has anyone else had their RAS cut?
Sceptics said at the time that personalisation would be a way of reducing costs and it seems they were right.
The RAS we use seemed to be permanently adjusted and busted so it's hard to know officially but it's very clear to see that money available has decreased significantly.
I am very disillusioned by the personalisation agenda and all those grand promises it made.
To me, it seems we are delivering a lot less with a lot more paperwork and stress. No real choice is being made in my service because the end figures are so low that there is no leeway for creative or individualised planning.
We have day centres closing so it is going to get worse.
Really powerful blog this morning cb - it really does seem that personalisation is going through a bit of a crisis. We're looking into this at the moment and seeing what those driving the policy have to say but thanks for all your comments on this (though they make for pretty sad reading).
