Hello all,
I currently work as a midwife and has great involvement with women with safeguarding issues and mental health and social issues.
I became a midwife to support women in vulnerable circumstances and the more involvement I have had in this area of work, the more enjoyment I have had from my job.
This has led me to the realisation, that it is in fact social work that I want to pursue, rather than midwifery (I think this was always the case, but couldn't see/define it).
I'm currently applying for the MA, I know I have missed the deadline but will apply anyway in the hope oof securing a place.
So that's me.
Hello,
I realise you posted this thread over a year ago now, but I am in a similar situation and have a place to start social work in september. Just wondering how you found the switch in the end? Fortunately I have realised early on, as I am still a student midwife.
