Hi there, just a quick one to pick the brains of those more knowledgeable about working with older people and those with dementia. Does anyone know of any resources or guidance on including family members and carers in assessments? I'm thinking specifically in terms of balancing the need to keep the service user's views/perspectives as the central focus whilst also taking into account the knowledge and insight of family members - a three-way assessment, so to speak. Normally Google is my friend, but it's not yielding quite what I want this time!

Many thanks.

PS I have passed my MA today and am so chuffed it's UNBELIEVABLE! But hugely concerned about how much I STILL don't know....

Anyway - if anyone can help - it would be much appreciated!!

Not Ranked

Think the FORGET ME NOT PAPER /Bill detailed alot about client and family wit dementai; if not there is always the wonderful Alzeihmers org uk web site ,, they have everything to do with dementia,,,,,,,,,,,,and there is always the guys you work with !!!!!!!!!
