Does anyone have any information regarding setting up Individual service funds as part of Self Directed Support?  Thank you

Go to thecentreforwelfarereform.org.uk or InControl (easier to goole)

I have set up ISF's for many people, but the purpose of an ISF is for organisations to control the fund on behalf of the individual sather than the individual self-directing their support. If you are talking about SDS, then you are talking about an individual/personal budget or a direct payment. I would need to know which? Hope this helps.

Hello

With regards to SDS, then it's similar to what you have set up i.e. the organisation controls the fund on behalf of the individual.  With SDS the providers manage the fund to meet the outcomes agreed in the support plan.  The payment could be made either way - with the individual agreeing for the money to go straight to the provider or the individual receiving the money themselves and then approaching the provider to set up an ISF(although the first option is probably the easiest).  Any information regarding your organisation's experience of the practicalities of setting these up and any insights you can provide that will help providers in Sheffield when they are looking to set Individual Service Funds up, would be helpful.

Thank you

Annemarie
