So Eileen Munro's review is going to look into cutting paperwork and bureaucracy, but Munro herself and others are saying that some social workers have only ever known a system with too much paperwork. They would therefore have to be retrained to work more reflectively, which could be good, but also expensive and time-consuming. Thoughts?
I'm not sure it's so much a question of retraining as it is unlearning but I see your point. From what Eileen Munro appears to be saying, I think she's aiming at root and branch systemic changes that go beyond individual practitioners and will stand the test of time rather than the usual change for changes sake approach. Speaking for myself, I've seen so many changes over the years that have made no discernible positive difference (usually the opposite) that if they don't get it right this time then I'm off......probably.
