I've just read that the three people who imprisoned Kevin Davies in a shed for four months in 2007, and repeatedly tortured him, will be released in 2011. Kevin had epilepsy and learning disabilities and died during the ordeal. They were not charged with murder because his epilepsy could have contributed to his death. This is outrageous - how are we going to ensure that people with learning disabilities are safe in the community if we cannot even provide a deterrent to abuse through sentencing?
