Hi I am a single dad with three children.  Several years ago my wife left me and my family so I have bought my three children up on my own and it has been a struggle because I have been unable to work.  Now they are all in full time school and I am looking to go back to work and I  fancy a job in social care but I dont know where to start?

Hi there,

Thats great news that you are now in a position to get back into the workplace and looking for something thats rewarding,

Have you thought about applying to be a support worker,  being a support worker could involve you working with many different client groups, e.g clients with mental health difficulties, learning disabilities, a really good organisation to work for is creative support ltd, they have a variety of different projects and schemes to work in as a support worker,  or thought about domicillary care work, whether its helping older adults live independently in their home , helping with personal care tasks or working in a care/nursing home environment. Looking in the local press is sometimes a good start as local domicillary care worker posts are advertised in there, also signing up for a specific care agency by doing a google search for your location and care agency work, they usually are able to provide you with work to meet your needs on flexible working should you need it.

Hope that is helpful for you!
