I have just started my first job as a care assistant with elderly however although i enjoy it i am concerned about specific practices some people get a lady who uses a zimmer to raise her leg whilst standing to put on undergarments is this bad practice when i asked about this i was told it is quicker than sitting them down and up this does not feel right. As i am new to this am i wrong

I have just read your post - yes you are 100% correct.  Personal care should be delivered as per care plan and OT specifications. As this lady has a zimmer aid I'd imagine she has had an OT assessment and am sure no OT would sanction the practice you describe.
