Hello everyone
I've started a new website which I've aimed at the non-statutory social worker. The idea is that between street outreach teams, prison workers, DIP workers, sex worker outreach etc, there are now a whole range of new types of workers mostly drawn from the drugs worker profession whose roles are beginning to look more and more like statutory roles. The issue being that many of the workers don't have the formal training that SW's have (though recently it has become a happy employment hunting ground for qualified SW's too!), and so swiftly have these new roles been created that there hasn't been the time to codify what constitutes best practice etc. My website is an ernest attempt to start pulling together what works in these fields (though the sources and resources are disperate and I see I have a lot of work on my hands).
Tell me what you think and what's needed. It's such early days that it is far from finished and can go in literally any direction I think is useful.
I've come here not to publicise but to ask advice and opinion.
The website is called the Assertive Engagement Resource at assertive-engagement.com
