Latest Daily Mail article on the the end of civilsation and health / social care inadequacies this time involving the continuing care funding process.

Whilst I am partial to a touch of PCT bashing myself on occasion, I at least manage to get my facts right. Points go to the person that spots the most factual errors!

Whilst I agree with the sentiments of the article - SUs with Dementia do have a habit of getting overlooked in the continuing care process, I do feel that the Daily Mail are doing their readers a great disservice by badly and incorrectly reporting what is actually quite a signficant issue, and which many people know very little about.

Oh, and if you have time check out the reader comments. Apparently the reason she didnt get the funding is because of all the immigrants!

I wish I was making it up. Enjoy...

The DM doesn't usually let the facts get in the way of a good story! But this is a good story and highlights shameful attitudes towards people with dementia within the NHS. Because they cannot fight back, they are regarded as an easy touch, to be relieved of their assets and savings in order to pay for Health Care.

For once, well done to the Mail for raising the issue, even if the reporting remains shoddy.
