I was interested to read about the London student social workers and look forward to hearing what the outcome of their conference was. I just hope that they don't expect the rest of the UK to take on board their views like with Laming etc
Many of us were doing a grand job until London interfered. I remember in 1988 in Slough doing great assessments in a great team who communicated really well both within and with the other professional networks.
I was looking on Amazon to see if my book The Nameless social worker still existed on there and was thinking about all the money I had wasted over the last decade trying to promote social work and wondering why I bothered. I could have had a decent car instead of the banger I now drive.
I found this from 2007 and thought why did I bother.
I have 18 months more working as a school social worker and then I don't know what I'll do
so good luck to you all I am media weary working in school although for peanuts is the best move I ever made with my Headteacher as the best and most realistic/ encouraging boss
