    Different social work settings

A forthcoming report by the National Children's Bureau suggests that social workers asked to work in young offender institutions feel isolated and experience culture clashes with YOI staff. Immigration detention centres are another unpopular spot, resulting in high turnover of social workers, according to reports.

Other obvious settings for permanent social work placements include schools and colleges.

But I'd be really interested to know the most unusual/undesirable/lonely spot on our sceptred isle a social worker has found or could find him or herself in on a permanent basis. Your contributions would be much appreciated.
