    World social work day

Looks like it's World Social Work Day on Tuesday (15 April), which the International Federation of Social Workers is co-ordinating.

A number of countries' associations have posted details of events they are organising. For instance, the Association of Social Workers in Kuwait is surveying practitioners about their views on how to upgrade the profession.

The general theme is "Social Work - Making a World of Difference" which is a nice slogan.

I'm not sure of events going on in Britain - does anyone have any ideas?

As far as I'm aware, there's going to be a massive carnival starting in Leicester Square and then making its way across the country, with mass public readings of the social work roles and tasks report before ending in a huge firework display, and a projection of a good practice case study onto the surface of the moon.
