Some of these people need to ask themselves whether they are not paid excessive money for the work that they do. I do not believe that they get where they are because they are seen as challenging, outspoken, radical and not generally seen as 'safe pairs of hands.' I don't want to personally criticise any of them but is it right, bearing in mind the origins of social work and what it ought to be about, to make small fortunes on the backs of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable?
