Hi All.

Was just having a gander through the news pages when I came across this article.

http://www.cypnow.co.uk/news/ByDiscipline/Social-Care/916900/Social-workers-low-morale-puts-children-risk/

The article focuses on the low morale of social workers and the threat this has to children. This is no new news to us however when reading through the article I found that there seems to be a campaign emerging in order to retain, recruit and respect children's social workers. The LGA (Local Government Association) is lauching this campaign aimed to boost the image of children's social work and councils are getting involved too. Here is the link to the LGA's page on the campaign with some interesting information. There are some publications on there also if anyone fancies a read.

It's actually positive that this is happening and something is, hopefully, going to be done about the image of social workers. Hopefully this will progress. It's not just the public image of children's social workers that needs to change. But at least something is happening!

Thanks for posting this socialworktales I will have a look - sounds good that there is postive strides being made. However I hope that the economic downturn does not affect these postive strides...
