    Yes, hope it goes well!

Are you having a 'proper' interview then, rather than a group discussion under observation? I have to say that I feel that even those universities that choose group discussions should also do individual interviews as some of the students in our year one were not meant to be, and dropped out invariably in that first year.

Let us know how it goes.

I am a mature student age 30 and Ive had alot of problems re education and thought I had not a chance to even get an interveiw, just be carm and if they offer you water take it, the only problem i had during interveiw was my mouth going dry!

But do read any up to date issues in the news papers etc, as the service user who is on the pannel will prob ask what you think about current issues in the puplic eye!

i hope Ive been a little bit of help and i wish you the best luck its been the best thing ive ever done

Whether it is an individual or group interview will affect what they will ask you to do.

If it's individual be prepared to answer the normal interview questions like why you want to be a social worker etc, and also make sure you read up on current issues because they might ask you about that, and even if they don't, they will be impressed if you can show you know about them!

If it is a group one it will probably be discussing a topic related to social work with a few others.

    Good luck with it!

    Hi

Best to read up on what you are interested in, and just show a passion for what you believe in.  If your given written tests make sure you know how to write in academic essay style e.g. intro, body, conclusion.

Reading up on your specified area is always a bonus, if you go in saying i want to be a social work because i want to help people you very unlikely to get in they want more than that, read the definitions of what social work is all about, because there is a lot more to it than just helping people.

Interviews are scary, and it is dependant on the uni you apply what to expect, some i went to expected presentations, some wanted written assignments the one i got into was written test and interview quite easy, i just made sure my commitment came through. They need to know you are dedicated to finishing the course as well as places are limited. They are unlikely to give the place to someone who does not show they are dedicated.

Good luck to anyone going through this process, its not easy but worth the effort of a little study before you go.
