Any advice or suggestions to my query would be most gratefully received. I am fortunate enough to have just been offered a place for an MA in Social Work at UEL for this Sept. I am now extremely keen to gain some temporary employment in the social work/care environment between now and Sept if at all possible. I'm not really sure however of the best way of going about achieving this as I have only recently returned from several years of living and working overseas as a teacher.
I'm currently engaged in voluntary work with a family support unit at a primary school, but I would dearly relish the opportunity to gain further experience in a paid capacity. The ads I've come across online for assistant social workers all insist on previous experience. Basically I would like to know if anyone knows of any agencies/organisations specialising in social work/care where previous experience is not always essential. Perhaps my request is unrealistic, feel free to let me know.
