Hi everyone,
I am a student coming towards the end of my first placement. My first placement has been split between a school and a multi-agency team. I have enjoyed the placement and working with young people. I am hoping to find myself some voluntary work to keep me busy between my placements and develop further skills and knowledge. Does anyone have any suggestions of useful voluntary opportunities that would help me achieve this? Preferably work that would be useful for a career in Children's services.

Barnardos are very good also possibly try your local council or youth groups.
During my study I managed to get a placement at the local YMCA in my first year, then with the local council for my second year and then in my thrid year I managed to get in with Barnardos. So depends on which area your interested in to where you look.
