Four Seasons Health Care has opened a dedicated residential care facility for young adults with physical disabilities, at the site of its Willow View Care Home in Stockton-on-Tees.

The Willow View Disabled Living Centre on Norton Road is an eight bedded unit that provides residential care and support in a specially-designed environment.

The care team is trained to deliver person-centred care to assist with daily living and to help residents to maintain their independence wherever possible.    Services are tailored through detailed care planning processes, taking into account the needs of the individual.

The extensive and modern facilities include a large lounge and dining area with kitchen amenities, a computer room with internet access, good sized en-suite bedrooms and a personal laundry service.  Additionally, Willow View offers a varied recreational activities programme, which is tailored to meet the individual abilities and interests of each resident.

Four Seasons also operates 11 care homes for elderly people in the Tees Valley area, a unit for young physically disabled people in Middlesbrough and Huntercombe House in Stockton, which offers care for young people with learning disabilities.

Dr Pete Calveley, chief executive of Four Seasons Healthcare said:  Although Four Seasons mainly provides care for older people we have a number of units for people with physical disabilities.   Our expertise in elderly care transfers well into providing high quality specialised residential care services.

“Our further investment in the Tees Valley is in response to an identified need for care of this type and has been well received by health and social care professionals across the region.”

Lorna Burn, home manager said:   “Care is provided in our home by skilled and experienced staff.

“The professional staff team is trained to support and care for the individual and varying needs of the residents.   We concentrate on helping each person to achieve their full potential and maintain optimum mobility and independence in a safe and homely environment.”
