  • Re: Kinship Carers

The issue is not about financial gain or not loving the children its about being able to have the choice and if these children need stability and someone their for them maybe the last thing someone wants to do is go out and leave these children until they feel settled and safe, and how can anyone in...

  • Re: Kinship Carers

Sorry I have read and unable to quote the bit I wish to use, but how old is the grandmother? and how many children did she have placed with her? I feel its amazing to be told to go out and get a job, and if there is a disability involved also then I would say trying to get a job is almost impossible...

Hi Daci, Yes, they did to some extent garner the views of children and young people...and promptly ignored them. You may find the following illuminating: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23375298-details/4%20million%20children%20at%20risk%20of%20being%20stigmatised%20by%20nationwide%20'problem...

  • Re: i've asked b4.gross hypocrisy and no-one can explain it.

Most of the allegations dating back to the 1960s in Jersey come from a time...

  • Re: Jersey

It is undoubtedly grim but what is clear is that the Jersey government must hold up its hands and allow proper scrutiny into what has been going on on the island. You would think there were members of staff or people who knew members of staff at the children's home where the remains were found might...

I'm a student who has spent the last 17 years working with older people. I have a placement soon in a continuing care team (looked after children) and have decided to make use of this Forum, so look out for basic questions!

  • Childcare in Norfolk

I'm glad to see in the article in the Norwich Evening News drawing attention to the problems of Norfolk's Children's Services where there are apparently 114 vacancies because social workers can get better pay in neighbouring regions. The article says that 30 posts were deliberately kept unfilled...
