Where is the event?

At The International Convention Centre, Broad Street, Birmingham, B1 2EA.Finding the ICC couldn’t be easier. If you choose to drive, and park at the Barclaycard Arena, it is a short walk along the canal to the Brindleyplace side entrance to the ICC. If arriving by train you can enjoy a short ten min walk from Birmingham new street station, taking in some of the sights of Birmingham and download our map to help.

What is the event about?

The event is FREE for registered social workers across both the Children and Families and Adult Care Service sectors to attend and comprises:

Community Care Live Congress, which will provide you with high-level content to promote your learning and development,  from expert speakers and leading national project

Community Care Live Exhibition, which featuring key organisations to help enhance your information gathering and career

Community Care Live Interactive including four exciting new zones to increase networking, knowledge and skills

Who is exhibiting at the event?

Who should visit the event?

Community Care Live Birmingham 2015 is free of charge for all social work professionals registered with HCPC or equivalent UK registration body (Registration number will be required during registration process). Free of charge entry is also extended to Local Authority Commissioners and Procurement Officers, Local Authority Workforce and Development Leads/Managers, Police Officers, Local Authority YOT’s, Probation Officers, when registering. Please note all other job titles and areas of work will be charged at the congress delegate day rate of £199 + vat in advance £249 + vat on the day. Please contact the team on 0208 652 4073/4782 to book your place. Those bringing push buggies or young children will not be admitted. Please note we have no crèche or child minding facilities.

Will there be any seminars or workshops?

Yes, we will run several debates or workshops throughout the event. Do look at these carefully as the programme is different on each day. Full details will be available closer to the event. Keep checking the congress page for the most updated programme. All session places are available on a first come, first served basis. The congress programme may change at short notice.

How can I register to attend?

Click here and fill in the registration form. You will receive a confirmation email with your badge number. Alternatively you can register on the day when you arrive. However, registering in advance will save you having to queue on arrival.

Is there a catalogue available? When can I get one? Is there a charge?

You can get a FREE copy of the event guide at the event itself, with all the essential info regarding the event. If you register in advance, we’ll also send you a pdf copy of the ‘programme at a glance’ for each day for you to print off and bring with you on the day.

What is the dress code?

The dress code is casual.

Should I bring my CV?

Yes, you can bring your CV to discuss with those exhibitors who are recruiting.

When is the next Community Care Live event?

Community Care Live London 2015 will take place on the 3rd November 2015 at the Business Design Centre Islington.

I HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED

Where do I pick up my badge?

Find your confirmation email, print it out and bring it to the event where your badge will be printed.

Will my badge allow me entry into the event on both days?

Yes

Is there a catalogue available? How can I get one? Is there a charge?

You can get a free copy of the event guide at the event itself, with all the essential information regarding the event.

I am a newly qualified social worker – will you pay for my travel costs?

We do not sponsor attendance to our event, but we keep entrance free for registered social workers to help keep attendance costs at a minimum.

Can I pre-book to attend sessions from the congress programme?

All sessions are available on a first come, first served basis only. There can be a high demand for space in some sessions so we would suggest that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of any session you particularly want to attend. Don’t forget that the programme is different on each day.

How can I register to attend?

Click on the ‘Register Now’ yellow button at the top of this page and fill in the registration form. You will receive a confirmation email with your badge number. Alternatively you can register on the day when you arrive. However, registering in advance will save you having to queue on arrival.

Is there a charge for registering pre-event?

Community Care Live continues to be provided free-of-charge to registered social workers with the HCPC or equivalent bodies, only by the involvement of our leading sponsors and exhibitors. In order to protect their integrity at this event we are unable to offer free places to delegates from any organisation who are attending for business-promotion purposes. By registering to attend Community Care Live Birmingham 2015, delegates are confirming their entitlement to a free place. False declaration or distribution of any promotional literature will not be tolerated and will result in you being asked to leave.

Is there a charge to register on the door?

Only registered social workers and Local Authority Commissioners and Procurement Officers, Local Authority Workforce and Development Leads/Managers, Police Officers, Local Authority YOT’s, Probation Officers can register for free. If you are not one of these then there is a fee to attend the event and this will be higher if the registration is made at the event rather than in advance.

Do I have to provide all of my personal details?

Yes, we ask for contact details and a few demographics. On the last page of the registration form you can unsubscribe from receiving emails from Community Care, our Parent Company (Reed Elsevier), our Affiliated Companies and Third Parties, so you won’t receive any communication not relating to this event.

I don’t want to be contacted after the event; how can I prevent this from happening?

Can I visit the event if I’m not in the trade?

If you are not a professional social worker, you can still attend by paying an nominal fee:

• Earlybird price: £199 + VAT (2 day pass) if booked before the event

• On the door: £249 + VAT (2 day pass) if booked at the event

I am a student; can I visit the event?

Free attendance is available for final year degree students only.

INTERNATIONAL VISITORS

I am travelling from overseas – where can I stay?

Contact the Business Design Centre to check if they have any recommendations and special rates with nearby hotels (Tel: 020 7288 6272).

Can I have a visa invitation?

This is a free event to attend for social work professionals and as such we do not issue visa invitations.

Can you sponsor my trip/help me find a sponsor?

Unfortunately we do not provide sponsorship to attend the event.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

How to get to Community Care Live 2015

Travelling by Train

The ICC is served by the UK’s largest interchange rail station, Birmingham New Street and the smaller Five Ways Station. Both stations are a short walk from the ICC and taxi ranks are situated close by. Birmingham New Street has direct and regular services to Birmingham International railway station which directly links to Birmingham International Airport and The NEC. It also has many direct services to London Euston, including a service that takes just 80 minutes and runs every 20 minutes.

Birmingham’s two other city centre train stations, Moor St and Snow Hill, are also within quick and easy access of the ICC and directly connected to London Marylebone or London Paddington via an hourly service. Download our maps for walking directions from the 3 main city centre train stations.

Travelling by Car

The ICC is located centrally in Birmingham city centre and is easily accessible by road from all over the UK. Visitors from any direction can travel in to Birmingham using many different routes connected to the following motorways: M1, M5, M6, M6 Toll, M40 and M42.

There is abundant, secure multi-storey parking available located within the Barclaycard Arena, which is just a short walk away from the ICC. Both the ICC and Barclaycard Arena are signposted on motorways and major roads and are marked on most road maps.

Travelling on Foot

The ICC is located in the well-known, accessible Broad Street area of Birmingham city centre, adjacent to Brindleyplace and Centenary Square. Download this city map and follow the below the directions.

–  Walking to the ICC from any part of Birmingham city centre is easy, well signposted and takes 10-15 minutes:

–  From New Street, head up to Victoria Square (the opposite direction to the Bull Ring shopping centre)

–  At Victoria Square, the Town Hall is on your left and Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery is on the right next to the Council House

–  Walk straight ahead and directly through Paradise Forum

–  Exit the Forum and walk past the circular Hall of Memory building

–  You will see the ICC straight ahead, past the new Library of Birmingham and the Rep Theatre on your right.

I am travelling by car – where can I park?

The nearest car parks to the ICC are located at sister venue the Barclaycard Arena. The North car park is closest or alternatively simply follow the road around on to St Vincent Street for the West car park or carry on further around to Sheepcote Street for the South car park.

Current charges are from £2.30 for up to 2 hours to £8.00 for 24 hours. Payment can be made by coin or card at the Pay and Display machines or via the Parkmobile App. Full cark park charge details can be found here.

Alternative parking is located at Brindleyplace or Paradise Circus.

Can I reserve a car parking space?

No, it’s on a first come, first served basis.

I am travelling a distance for the event – where can I stay overnight?

ACCESS & FACILITES

At the ICC, we are committed to ensuring that all of our visitors are able to get around the venue easily. If you have any queries or need assistance during your visit, please contact any member of staff, who will be happy to help.

What is wheelchair access like at the venue?

The ICC is accessible to wheelchair users via ramps or lifts. Tactile signage is fitted in the majority of lifts. Assistance Dogs are welcome at our venue. For vehicles displaying blue badges, parking is free of charge at or near the main entrance. Spaces need to be booked in advance so please telephone us on +44 (0) 121 780 4949.

Will there be anywhere to buy food while I’m at the exhibition?

Yes, there will be a cafeteria on the exhibition floor and on the Gallery level.

Can my children visit the event with me?

No, please note that attendance at debates and workshops is restricted to over 18 years olds. Please note we have no crèche or child minding facilities.

Are pushchairs allowed into the exhibition halls?

Unfortunately no, for safety reasons.

Are there any crèche facilities?

No.

Is there a cloakroom at the event?

Yes.

Will lunch be provided?

No, but there is a cafeteria located in the exhibition floor and one on the Gallery floor.
