Protecting the frontline against burnout

10th March 2015, Holiday Inn Bloomsbury, London

If – as a society -  we want caring and compassionate frontline professionals, we have to treat them with care and compassion to facilitate this. There is strong evidence of stress related illness, linked to both physical and mental health, within the health and social care workforce. A ‘perfect storm’ is developing with ever increasing demands on the workforce accompanied by decreasing resources. In short, we have a lose-lose situation for employers, workers, those using services and carers. This event is relevant for all frontline workers across social care and health, for their managers, heads of service, directors and workforce development leads. Speakers include Dr Chris Manning, Mental Health Policy Lead, College of Medicine, Lori Goossen, Organisational Development Consultant, Children’s Services, London Borough of Bexley and Annie Hudson, Chief Executive, The College of Social Work.
