It’s not every day that £12,000 comes through the post,
especially if you are a hard-pressed, small, user-run voluntary
agency in Scotland. But that’s just what happened when The
Telegraph magazine ran a pre-Christmas feature on Bob Holman and
the FARE project on Glasgow’s Easterhouse Estate.
Donations came with 200 letters prompted by the article. With
such a response from the ‘Torygraph’, can that knighthood be far
off (Sir Bob Holman, try it out for size). The title would leapfrog
its recipient up the honours ladder above all those OBEs and CBEs
attached to the great and good of the welfare industry whom Bob
Holman has so often trenchantly criticised.
And who’s sending the £12,000?
