Children’s charity Childline has appointed a new chief
executive, Carol Easton, who was formerly head of the national
voluntary organisation for bereavement and support, Cruse
Bereavement Care.
Easton will take over at the beginning of July when current
chief executive Val Howarth leaves.
Howarth has been Childline’s only chief executive since it was
launched in October 1986. She is planning to concentrate on her
work as a board member of the Food Standards Agency.
