Child care providers need additional training in looking after
refugee and asylum seeker children, a report due to be published
next week will recommend.
Commissioned by Lewisham Council in London, the Daycare Trust
report into child care needs among refugees and asylum seekers
states that wider training is the way forward in raising awareness
around the needs of these children.
A spokesperson for training body TOPSS said: “We welcome the
fact that special skills training for asylum seekers and refugees
is being called for.”
